Building The Future of Navajo Nation
Volunteer Navajo Union Carpenters from Local 1319 have almost completed a prototype Hogan home for Veterans living on Navajo Nation. 30 volunteer Carpenters have helped to build the prototype Hogan through CUPP opportunities.
800 Hogans are projected to be built for Veterans living on Navajo Nation. It’s a 2-bedroom, 1200 square foot, Octagon-shaped home.
The SWRCC and Local 1319 hope to work with the Navajo Nation to train workers to build the Hogans for their Veterans.

Tough As Nails Watch Party Round Up
Local 714 and the Buena Park Training Center hosted the official Tough As Nails Watch Party on 10/6. 50+ Carpenters and their families were treated to a catered dinner followed by a red carpet pre-show hosted by Union Carpenter Ruben Tejeda. The guest of honor himself, Union Carpenter and TAN contestant, Lamar Hanger made his grand entrance to introduce the first episode of the series. In true Lamar fashion, he entertained the audience during commercial breaks, and he even made a surprise costume change to the military uniform he wore in the episode.
Watch parties were also held at Locals 213, 721, and 951. Audience members at these parties asked Lamar questions during the post-show Q&A session.
You can watch the wrap-up to the entire event in the video above.
